+MEETING IN FRAMINGHAM, MA (29SEP-01OCT06)
This meeting was the first one of the new MFLSC, as established in Darien, IL, in October 2005.
Lay Marists from all four branches met for a week-end at the Marist House in Massachussets
to determine the short terms and long term goals of the committee.
A discussion on Marist Spirituality was led by a facilitator, Sr Joanne at the beginning of the week-end.
The Committee officers were elected and the following sub-committees were formed:
-finance and budget
-revision of the guidelines of the previous MFLSC
-work toward a formulation of Marist Spirituality for laity
-formation of leadership for Marist Laity (deferred until the guidelines have been revised)
-recruitment of new Lay Marists (deferred until later date)
-National Laity Conference (deferred until later date)

Obviously, if we are to serve lay Marists, our first tasks must include contacting as many Marist laity as we can in order
to determine what are their needs, their wishes. The committee needs your input, your cooperation, your suggestions.
Why not write to us with your ideas? We need all the help that we can get if we are to serve all the Marist lay groups.
Our object is to enable the various Marist lay groups to interact more easily and to share resources. This could be the
beginning of great things for Marist laity, and we seek, encourage and welcome the participation of all!
