Marist Mission Project Appreciation Chicago October 13th-14th, 2007 |

The Marist Laity group from Our Lady of the Snows parish sponsored a raffle for the Marist Missions. In an effort to reach out in a particular way to "the poor and marginalized" and to respond to the Marist vision "to make the whole world Marist", our Chicago group initiated a project linking the local and extended Church. The group collected prizes and donations for the raffle and advertised in the parish bulleting. Much more than the money received through the purchase of raffle tickets and donated prizes, was the support, generosity and enthusiasm of OLS parishioners for the missions. The 100% profit from the Mission raffle was sent to the Marist Sisters in Guadalajara and to their Marist Larist Laity groups who minister to the poor in the area. Some of the funds will also assist young women from Haiti who are coming to Guadalajara to learn Spanish and work in ministry with the Sisters... We hope to form a link/bridge with our Marist Laity groups in Guadalajara and our Lady of the Snows Marist Laity group in Chicago. Please pray in Thanksgiving for the blessings received through our raffle for the Marist Missions and for continuing support and link with the Marist Laity in Guadalajara.
