First Marist Laity Conference in Australia

Join the Marists in Australia to celebrate 150 years of Marist Lay Presence and 100 years of Marist
Sisters in Australia

The theme:
Chevalier Resource Center, SYDNEY        y

From the 18th to the 20th of April, the first Marist Laity Conference of Australia was held in Sydney.
Two members of the Marist Laity USA attended the conference,
see photo below
They were warmly welcomed on Thursday as well as two members of the Marist Laity from New Caledonia.

                   in front of the Opera House in Sydney, a day before the Conference started...

The content of the conference:
The rest of the participants arrived on Friday morning.
Vowed and Lay people from all the branches of the Marist tree were represented.

The two days were very dense and filled with Presentations, workshops, sharing in small groups.

Morning and afternoon tea
was not forgotten during which people could mingle and check out the different
presentations made by each congregation or country from abroad.

On Friday night, a few presentations were given by the representatives of New Zealand, the Philippines, Fiji,
USA, Noumea in New Caledonia.

On Saturday evening a dinner celebration was held and filled with laughters and entertainment...

On Sunday, a pilgrimage to the different Marist sites in the city was organized. The participants rode in a bus
that took them to the Marist Sisters School, St Patrick church, the Marist Brothers school, Villa Maria...
